Mia interviews Stacey Abrams at 2020 PLA National Conference

Freedom Lifted founder Mia Henry moderated the opening keynote discussion with modern Civil Rights leader Stacey Abrams for the Public Library Association’s 2020 National Conference. The talk was attended by over 3,000 people in Nashville’s Music City Center on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

Henry has served as a lead trainer for PLA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force, facilitating their “Equity Starts With Us” workshop in cities across the U.S. for the past year. Abrams is an author, serial entrepreneur, nonprofit CEO, and political leader. After eleven years in the Georgia House of Representatives, seven as Minority Leader, Abrams became the 2018 Democratic nominee for Governor of Georgia, where she won more votes than any other Democrat in the state’s history. After witnessing the gross mismanagement of the election by the Secretary of State's office, Abrams launched Fair Fight to ensure every Georgian has a voice in our election system. She also founded Fair Count, an organization to ensure that the 2020 Census is fair, accurate, and counts everyone.
